Bardon SS - Bardon State School

A Message from the Principal

Since 1948, Bardon State School has been providing quality education to primary school students in inner western Brisbane.  Our school has a rich heritage and an exciting future.  Our students have a positive attitude to learning and parents who support and reinforce school learning.

Bardon State School has professional staff who work actively toward the school vision of Vision - “Learn and Grow - Working together to ensure that every day, in every classroom, every Bardon State School student is learning and achieving”

 All staff believe that all students can achieve higher academic results.
 Effective curriculum delivery is underpinned by explicit instruction.
 Practices within Bardon State School enhance the school learning culture.

Our staff implement a challenging and engaging curriculum which is supported by research based learning (eg Fleming – Explicit Instruction).  Our programs, curriculum extension and student leadership all work together to support our students to reach the highest standards of academic success and personal achievement.

Although primary school is but one part of the whole education of any individual, it is very special in the sense that the stages of growth through which your child passes whilst at Bardon State School will occur only once in his or her lifetime. I know that you will wish to share with your child and your child’s teachers the thrill of accomplishment at each of these stages of development. You can do this by getting to know and by keeping in touch with your child’s teachers, and by showing your child you are involved in all that is happening at school.

Education is an enterprise between parent and school, and is best fostered by mutual communication
We’re delighted to share our school community with you.

Mrs Sharni Tomkins

Principal
