Bardon SS - Bardon State School

Welcome from the Principal

On behalf of the school community of Bardon State School, I’d like to welcome you as a valued member to our supportive and active school community.

The aim of our school is to ensure every individual student is challenged to achieve his/her educational potential. In an ever changing world our students need to develop the skills, knowledge base, attitudes, values and resilience to succeed in a lifestyle of their choice.

Our whole school community is committed to lifelong learning and supports this through a rich curriculum that provides opportunity to all individuals.

Our school was established in 1948 and has established itself as a highly effective and high performing school that develops the whole child. We are a proud and enthusiastic school community that continually strives for improvement in a supportive family like environment.

At Bardon State School we are known for:

  • Research based teaching practices that cater for all individual learning styles
  • An experienced, enthusiastic and well balanced staff that work towards common goals.
  • A parent population that is heavily individual and supportive of school programs and initiatives.
  • Academic results that are consistently above” like schools” and incline or above whole national standards in both literacy and numeracy.
  • A strong commitment and focus on technology in learning and everyday living.
  • Offering a curriculum delivered through differentiation in the classroom and multi-age settings.
  • Development of the BARDON YOUNG WRITERS WORKSHOP for aspiring young writers which supports clusters of schools throughout the Brisbane area
  • A strong commitment to our LOTE program involving strong school community links with a sister school in Japan.
  • Strong student welfare program that supports the individual child to develop self confidence leadership and team work necessary to succeed in life.
  • An increasingly successful physical education and sporting program.
  • A rich choral and instrumental program which perform in local and extended community events throughout the year.

Once again I welcome you to our school and am confident a productive partnership will develop between your family and the school community that will be sustained for many years to come.

Yours sincerely,

Craig Douglas
Principal
